During 2003, the cargo throughput of Ningbo port totaled 185 million Tons, listed at the second place in the mainland of China, and 6th place worldwide. At present, over 100 container lines have been operated , with container volume 2.75 million TEU in 2003. Ningbo Port has topped in China for successive 6 years of the increasing margin of container business, and listed among the Top 30 worldwide in its container volume.
     Ningbo Port already opened over 100 routes, 38 international ocean lines, 17 domestic lines, with more than 480 monthly calls. It is connected to more than 560 ports in 90 countries and regions worldwide, with more than 40 ocean lines to North America, Korea, Japan, Russia, East & West Africa, Europe, Mediterranean, Middle East, South-east Asia, Hong Kong, Singapore and so on, consisting of over 135 monthly calls.
    Beilun Port, closely connected to NETD, is a famous international deepwater key route port, an important component of Shanghai international shipping center, as well as a major container terminal in the east of China. As the largest composition of Ningbo Port, Beilun port has 150 square km of water area with water depth up to 50 meters, and the smallest width of the channel is above 700 meters. Beilun port is with access for 300,000 tons vessels, and already has 27 deepwater berths putting into operation, including 250,000 tons of crude oil terminals, 200,000 tons of iron ore transshipment terminals, 30,000 to 50,000 tons of the 3rd to 5th generation international container terminals, and 10,000 tons of chemical terminals.

Started from Ningbo, within a traffic circle between 0.5 to 3 hours, 4 international airports are available: Ningbo Lishe Airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao & Pudong Airport.
Ningbo Lishe Airport will be constructed to 4E key route standard, and it has operated over 30 routes to medium and large cities in China. In addition, regular flightsto Hong Kong, Macaw and Taiwan have already been operated.
    To create convenience for import or export of the goods of IT enterprises, after approved by the competent authority, a green channel has been established to Ningbo Lishe International Airport, Xiaoshan International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.

    Land Transportation:Directly connected to Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Highway, Tongjiang-Sanya Coastal Express, Ningbo-Jinhua Highway and etc. It takes 1.5 hours driving to Hangzhou, 3.5 hours to Shanghai and Suzhou at present. After the completion of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, it only costs 1.5 hours driving to Shanghai, and 2 hours to Suzhou.
     Xiaoshan-Ningbo railway connects with the national rail network via Shanghai-Hangzhou Rail & Zhejiang-Jiangxi Rail.
