    A great number of renowned multinationals have established their investment in NETD such as Esso, Samsonite, Dow, BP, Hoechst Corporation, Mannesmann, Itochu, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Kanematsu, Marubeni, Asahi Chemical Industry, Sumitomo, Iwai, Samsung, SinaMas Group, C.T. food & oil and etc. Over 70 enterprises from Taiwan have settled in NETD, such as Taiwan Formosa, Tianying Computer, Reward Wool, Formosan Rubber, Loyal Chemical, President Food, Evergreen Container, Minth Machinery, Mingjong Machinery, Beautone Stationery and etc.
    NETD has a large number of projects with investment over 10 million U.S.D. respectively. 5 of the 10 “Ten Billion Projects” have already started construction in NETD(Taiwan Formosa, The 3rd phase of white paperboard project, Baoxin Stainless Steel, Donghai Chunxiao LNG project, The 4th & 5th phase of container terminals) .

    Industrial Structure
    With a sound background of modern manufacturing sector, NETD created a harmony in developing capital & technological intensive industries, new & high-tech industry, port-based industries, and traditional advantageous industries. The port-based industries are mainly consisting of petro-chemical, steel, automobile & parts, as well as shipbuilding. With years of efforts in introducing foreign investment, ten major industries have emerged in NETD: plastic & rubber, plastic machinery, paper making, electronic & information, molds, textile & garments, stationery & sports goods, foodstuff processing, and plants. In NETD, the High Technological Park and Overseas Graduates Park grow rapidly, and established technological incubator as well as the new & high-tech development funds, to encourage the development of high technological projects in NETD.

    Construction of Four Industrial Base
    Petro-Chemical Industrial Base: Mainly consisting of Taiwan Formosa Plastic & Petro- chemical Zone, Qingzhi Chemical Industrial Zone, Guoju Key Projects Zone, including a couple of huge projects such as Taiwan Formosa Plastic & Petro-chemical, and Yisheng PTA project.
    Steel Industrial Base: Make full use of Beilun Port, the most important transshipment port in China for steel iron ores, and already form a steel production base, with stainless steel wide & thick plates as the main products. Major Projects: Baoxin Stainless Steel Project, with designed annual production capacity of 600,000 tons; Jianlong Steel project, with designed annual capacity of 6 million Tons.
    Automobile & Parts Industrial Base: NETD will become the major automobile parts production base in Zhejiang province & East China. The cooperation project of Geely Group and its international partners from Italy, Korea has already started construction. With the completion of the project, it would have an annual capacity of 300,000 cars and 300,000 sets engines.
    Ship-building Industrial Base: Based on the unique advantage of Beilun Port, NETD will be constructed as an important industrial base, with a group of international renowned multinationals and private enterprises. Some projects such as Samsung Heavy Industry & Hengfu Ship Building already put into production.
