< The Survey of
Competitiveness of Cities in China> made by the Academy
of Social Science in Feb., 2003 shows: Among 200 major cities(including
Hongkong & Macow) in China, Ningbo takes the first place
in its structural
competitiveness, the third in its systematic competitiveness,
the fifth in the competitiveness of governmental administration,
and among the top ten in the overall strength of the city.
In March 2004, the Academy of Social
Science publicized again <The Survey of Competitiveness
of Cities in China, No 2), which assessed 200 cities in China
in overall strength, Ningbo is still listed among Top 10.
Ningbo is evaluated as one of the
most recommendable cities for investment in the mainland of
China by Taiwan Electrical & Electronic Manufacturers’
Association for quite a few years.
At a great speed of economic development,
Yangtze River Delta, consisting of Shanghai, Zhejiang &
Jiangsu, has become one of the areas in China with most active
economy and highest level of technology and culture. At the
same time, it is listed as the world 6th largest metropolises
circle .
A new economic circle around Hangzhou Bay is accelerating
its emerge these years. Located at the “T” point
of Chinese coastline as well as the river mouth of Yangtze
River, Ningbo is very close to Shanghai. After the completion
of Ningbo Hangzhou Bay Bridge, Ningbo will be within the 2
hours’ traffic circle as a modern regional central city.
With a subtropical monsoon climate,
Ningbo is with four distinctive seasons, abundant rainfall
and sunshine. The annual average temperature is 16.3 degrees,
and the humidity 79%. The main wind direction is from south-east
and north-west. The mild climate is suitable for all kinds
of manufacturing industries.
